Period Adventure

It's a whole new world in 1824 Louisiana. France has sold their land to the still-new United States, and now Spain has given Florida up for a strong border West. All of that change proves too exciting for one skinny red fox growing up in deep Cajun country, the first American-born in his family. And so begins an incredible journey across the Southern states, where Barton Rouge will meet both friends and foes alike on his way through the darkest voodoo country in all the land.

                                                        Get away from me! Ain’t you done enough?                                                    

                                                        Barton                                                    

                                                        S’il vous plait, monsieur hound. I am so sorry, if I had any idea—                                                    

                                                        Dog                                                    

                                                        Any idea? Did you come here to apologize?                                                    

                                                        Barton                                                    

                                                        I don’t know what else to do.                                                    

                                                        Dog                                                    

                                                        There’s nothing for you to do. Nothing! You just sit there in your mud hole and enjoy a full belly. A dog’s life is a fair price for a good meal, ain’t it?                                                    

                                                        Barton                                                    

                                                        No! No, it’s not! Mister Hound, please, I stole from the coop before and no dog’s been killed over it. How could I have known?                                                    

                                                        Dog                                                    

                                                        That’s a fine question to be asking the one you’re killing, ain’t it? You want to help me?                                                    

                                                        Barton                                                    

                                                        Oui, oui, yes, please, anything!                                                    

                                                        Dog                                                    

                                                        Then get out of here! Give me a last night of peace.                                                    

                                                        Barton                                                    

                                                        I could release your chain.                                                    

                                                        Dog                                                    

                                                        If this chain could be broken, I’d have done it, wouldn’t I?                                                    

                                                        Barton                                                    

                                                        There's got to be something I can do.                                                    

                                                        Dog                                                    

                                                        There is. You go on home and look at those black gloves you’re wearing and be thankful the Good Lord was kind enough to cover up all that bright red on your hands. Least he could do for putting the devil’s color on your back. Now go!

Deep in the wild west, a cougar outlaw is hired to track down a coyote gang accused of robbing a town's riches.

Scene Description

In this scene, the outlaw questions a local priest with a chapel outside of town.

                                                        Evening, Padre.                                                    

                                                        Priest                                                    

                                                        Father! It's Father! My name's McKenzie, for pity's sake! Does that sound like a Padre to you?                                                    

                                                        Outlaw                                                    

                                                        Pardon, Padre. Long as you wear that fetching dog-collar, reckon I'll call you what you seem.                                                    

                                                        Priest                                                    

                                                        Please don't call it a dog collar.                                                    

                                                        Outlaw                                                    

                                                        If names are such a concern, you might have stayed back East.                                                    

                                                        Priest                                                    

                                                        And miss all this colorful scenery? Who knew the desert was so beautiful! My ancestors should have never left Egypt!                                                    

                                                        Outlaw                                                    

                                                        Then you wouldn't be here to help me take care of some business, Padre. The coyote gang. They make their presence felt here at all?                                                    

                                                        Priest                                                    

                                                        Maybe they have. And if they did, maybe they left the donation-box emptier than the Lord would like.                                                    

                                                        Outlaw                                                    

                                                        Huh. The Good Word ain't cheap, I see.                                                    

                                                        SFX                                                    

                                                        [HANDING OVER COINS]                                                    

                                                        Outlaw                                                    

                                                        You're a quick one, preacher, cottoning so briskly to how we do things 'round here.                                                    

                                                        Priest                                                    

                                                        I learned this lesson in Scotland, Outlaw. They came through an hour ago.                                                    

                                                        Outlaw                                                    

                                                        All four?                                                    

                                                        Priest                                                    

                                                        Yes, the whole quartet. They were bound for the salt flats.                                                    

                                                        Outlaw                                                    

                                                        That's good. That's mighty good. You say the Lord has the answers, Padre, but I reckon yours are more useful.                                                    

                                                        Priest                                                    

                                                        Oh, why thank you for belittling my calling.                                                    

                                                        Outlaw                                                    

                                                        You're the one with silver jangling in his paw.                                                    

                                                        Priest                                                    

                                                        The Lord thanks you. Now you should go, Outlaw. Before I think to ask why you're looking for those boys.

Zombie Comedy

Eugene, a beaver trucker, picks up Linda, a wolf hitchhiker, in what should be a routine job. But when Eugene hits a skunk with voodoo powers, the mysterious mephit casts a dark spell that reanimates the dead bodies buried in the graveyard the trucking company was built on.

Scene Description

In the following scene, Eugene has taken Linda to one of the company's many garages, where he comes up with a plan to help trap the zombies clawing for them outside.

                                                        Eugene                                                    

                                                        All right! Now we're getting somewhere! All we gotta do is bait these trucks, open them up, then shut the doors when the zombies are inside.                                                    

                                                        Linda                                                    

                                                        What are we using as bait?                                                    

                                                        Eugene                                                    

                                                        Well, uh—us.                                                    

                                                        Linda                                                    

                                                        That's your plan?                                                    

                                                        Eugene                                                    

                                                        Now see, listen here, these trucks have got a port in the back for accessing the cab. So I figure one of us waits in the cab while the other opens the hangar doors then gets in the trailer. The zombies come, once they're inside, the one in the cab shuts the doors, and the bait crawls through the port, closes the hatch. And just like that. Truck full of zombies.                                                    

                                                        Linda                                                    

                                                        Great plan. Let me guess. You're in the cab?                                                    

                                                        Eugene                                                    

                                                        Well, uh. Being as you're a wolf and much faster runner than a beaver like me—                                                    

                                                        Linda                                                    

                                                        You can't fit in the hatch, can you?                                                    

                                                        Eugene                                                    

                                                        No, miss.                                                    

                                                        Linda                                                    

                                                        Fine.                                                    

                                                        Eugene                                                    

                                                        Great! All right, let's just open her up.

In their mission to make the most challenging video games in the world , a furry developer writes an Al for their final boss that generates its own strategies to react to opponents. But when employees begin to die mysteriously around the office, it becomes clear to Ike, the company's public relations manager, something has gone wrong.

                                                        Tyler                                                    

                                                        This room is scheduled for wiring next week , so it should be safe to speak in.                                                    

                                                        Ike                                                    

                                                        No phones, no network in here?                                                    

                                                        Tyler                                                    

                                                        As far as I am aware or have been informed, no.                                                    

                                                        Ike                                                    

                                                        All right. What's going on?                                                    

                                                        Tyler                                                    

                                                        Our code base is performing its tasks perfectly as given. [PAUSE] It's eliminating its opponent.                                                    

                                                        Ike                                                    

                                                        Who told it employees were opponents?                                                    

                                                        Tyler                                                    

                                                        [PAUSE] It told itself.                                                    

                                                        Ike                                                    

                                                        That doesn't make sense.                                                    

                                                        Tyler                                                    

                                                        Ravi was implementing collision detection to the code base. That would limit the code's ability to react. That was considered a threat.                                                    

                                                        Ike                                                    

                                                        What about Williams?                                                    

                                                        Tyler                                                    

                                                        He was converting geometry into bump-mapping. Technically, that reduction in resolution was threatening the code's ability to defend itself.                                                    

                                                        Ike                                                    

                                                        So, is any change a threat?                                                    

                                                        Tyler                                                    

                                                        Logically, yes.                                                    

                                                        Ike                                                    

                                                        Well, how do we stop it?                                                    

                                                        SFX                                                    

                                                        [CELL PHONE RING]                                                    

                                                        Ike                                                    

                                                        You brought a phone in here?

                                                        Yeah. Uh. But I turned off Wi-Fi. It's okay. The code isn't in the carrier's network.

War Movie

When the beavers go too far and dam up more rivers than previous treaties allowed, there's no choice for the river otters but total war. But turning a population of playful, goofy-minded mustelids into an efficient war machine is no small task, especially against their hard-working, productive rodent enemies. Still, master sergeant Deke, a career otter soldier who has dreamed of the day when his people would finally be feared, is devoted to building the finest otter infantry the forest has ever seen.

                                                        [DISTANT WARFARE NOISES]                                                    

                                                        Fisher                                                    

                                                        Master sergeant!                                                    

                                                        Deke                                                    

                                                        What? Who the hell are you?

                                                        Corporal Fisher, sir! Fourteenth battalion--                                                    

                                                        Deke                                                    

                                                        Fourteenth? Well, what the cod fins are you doing here? You're supposed to be flanking the dam! You better have good news for me, soldier.                                                    

                                                        Fisher                                                    

                                                        Yes, sir! I mean--no, sir! The battalion's in position, but--

                                                        But what?                                                    

                                                        Fisher                                                    

                                                        They were expecting us, sir. The dam was built past the South bank into the forest.                                                    

                                                        Deke                                                    

                                                        What? They can do that?

                                                        We didn't know they could, sir. They opened fire on us before we were in range.                                                    

                                                        SFX                                                    

                                                        [SLAMMING TABLE]                                                    

                                                        Deke                                                    

                                                        Damn those beavers! Spread out the troops and march in, don't let them concentrate their fire.                                                    

                                                        Fisher                                                    

                                                        Sir, they surprised us, we've already lost half our otters. What's left is pinned down in the trees.                                                    

                                                        Deke                                                    

                                                        That's still enough to march!

                                                        Sir, they want to pull back.                                                    

                                                        Deke                                                    

                                                        No! Keep the South bank occupied! We'll get more paws on the North side, but keep that South side engaged!
