                                                        You finally decided to come out of the Jeffries Tube?                                                    

                                                        Pope                                                    

                                                        Aye, Captain. It was impossible to see what I was working on up there, and it was cold. My fur just isn't thick enough for this job sometimes.                                                    

                                                        Trask                                                    

                                                        I thought your species was from an ice planet.                                                    

                                                        Pope                                                    

                                                        Why is it that everybody from the core worlds thinks that every planet has only one climate on the whole world? Ugh. It's my team, sir. They all turned out to be bolt-sorters.                                                    

                                                        Pope                                                    

                                                        Every now and then they send you somebody who's not just unskilled but dangerously incompetent. Letting them work on something serious would be very bad. But you can't just fire them. So you make busy work. You tell them to polish the handles on all the tools, to write down every time one indicator light flashes, or to sort out different lengths of bolts.                                                    

                                                        Trask                                                    

                                                        And your entire crew in engineering is bolt sorters?                                                    

                                                        Pope                                                    

                                                        You got it. There can't be half a brain between all of them, sir.                                                    

                                                        Trask                                                    

                                                        Speaking of errors, you didn't actually try to balance the pH of the bio-neural gel pack with Saurian brandy, did you?                                                    

                                                        Pope                                                    

                                                        To tell the truth, I just really, really needed a drink at that moment.

Project Premise

Period Drama

In a world where breed defines class, Anne Fuchs, a prim and proper English Fox, defies the ways of early 1900's Virginia by teaching Harold Tige, an overworked pit bull servant, how to read. Her brother-in-law, a cruel tobacco baron, fights to maintain the status quo and keep his best pit fighter helpless to improve his standing.

Scene Description

Anne's brother-in-law, Simon, argues with Anne over her efforts to eduacate Tige. Simon confronts her in the manor library while the vixen puts away the books she used in the day's lessons.

                                                        Simon                                                    

                                                        It's a lost cause, you know? You can't make a creature go against his nature.                                                    

                                                        Anne                                                    

                                                        Tell me, what does a tobacco baron know about nature?                                                    

                                                        Simon                                                    

                                                        I know what those creatures are capable of. It's nothing personal, they can't help it. They are where they are for a reason.                                                    

                                                        Anne                                                    

                                                        Oh, I know the reason. You make them keep them under your heel so that they can be nothing more than what you want. You make them fight—                                                    

                                                        Simon                                                    

                                                        [INTERRUPTING] You think they don't enjoy it? You think a mutt like him can ever forget the taste of blood?                                                    

                                                        SFX                                                    

                                                        [SLAMMING DOWN BOOKS]                                                    

                                                        Anne                                                    

                                                        I think all they've known their entire lives is servitude and part of that servitude is pleasing their employers, even if that means being mauled to pieces.                                                    

                                                        Simon                                                    

                                                        What will come from your experiment, hmm? What do you think people will call a monster in gentleman's clothes?                                                    

                                                        Anne                                                    

                                                        They will call him "sir". They will call him professor, captain, doctor, officer, poet laureate or anything he chooses to be called, but I can promise you one thing, Simon. They will not call him "monster" ever again.

Scene Description

Anne and Tige are seated around a table, both holding the same book. Anne has been coaching Tige on diction and line comprehension. Tige wears a mask that indicates his servitude and covers his scars from pit fighting for Anne's brother-in-law.

                                                        Tige                                                    

                                                        Was that better, Ms. Fuchs?                                                    

                                                        Anne                                                    

                                                        It was Mr. Tige, but I would like to try something different this time if that is all right with you.                                                    

                                                        Tige                                                    

                                                        What's that?                                                    

                                                        Anne                                                    

                                                        I would like for you to read the passage again, but I would like to hear you speak without your mask on.                                                    

                                                        Tige                                                    

                                                        [PAUSE] I'll only frighten you.                                                    

                                                        Anne                                                    

                                                        You won't frighten me, and I bet there's a wonderful voice under that mask.                                                    

                                                        SFX                                                    

                                                        [REMOVE MASK]                                                    

                                                        Tige                                                    

                                                        [READING] I would hate the men of this world for their apathy and arrogance. I would hate them for their disregard and disrespect for their fellow man, but if I can look upon them not in judgment, then they will not have the right to judge me.                                                    

                                                        Anne                                                    

                                                        You have a lovely voice and I believe the whole world would love to hear you speak.                                                    

                                                        Tige                                                    

                                                        [PAUSE] [TREMBLING] I'm sorry. I've never had a lady tell me that.                                                    

                                                        Anne                                                    

                                                        And I won't be the only one. I promise you.

Sci-Fi/Fantasy Epic

Based on the wildly successful video game series, Stars of the Immortal follows the adventures of Zack Lightfang, a normal cat turned anthro to protect a magical land. Guided by the stars and his dreams, he must save his new home from dark spirits and the flames of war, whipped by the evil Scourge. The lovely Celine De Lune guides and mentors him through a magical world where an ancient relic offers the only chance for survival.

Scene Description

This scene takes place on a hill overlooking the beach where Celine has been teaching Zack magic. Unwittingly, Celine speaks the same words his mate said before she died.

                                                        Celine                                                    

                                                        You're a natural. See?                                                    

                                                        Zack                                                    

                                                        If only because I've a fine teacher.

                                                        That's sweet of you to say. You've come far, you know?                                                    

                                                        Celine                                                    

                                                        A good creed is a good creed, no matter what any other thinks.                                                    

                                                        Zack                                                    

                                                        Celine. I—                                                    

                                                        Celine                                                    

                                                        Yes?                                                    

                                                        Zack                                                    

                                                        More beautiful words have never been said.                                                    

                                                        Celine                                                    

                                                        They haven't?                                                    

                                                        Zack                                                    

                                                        Celine. Forgive me. I've been rude to you, you were the first person I've met since coming here and yet you were the first to never question my story in the slightest. I've been unfair.

                                                        What brought this?                                                    

                                                        Zack                                                    

                                                        Celine. I love you.                                                    

                                                        Celine                                                    

                                                        Who do you love then? Me, or the one from your life as a four-legged feline?

Scene Description

This scene is from the climax of the film when Zack meets Scourge for a final battle at the shores of a magical lake that can give Scourge the power he needs to take over the world.

                                                        Zack                                                    

                                                        Scourge! Your crazed plan from the hell you spawned from will not succeed! I will make sure of it!                                                    

                                                        Scourge                                                    

                                                        You are far too late, Lightfang. The Waters are already within reach. Once I drain them of their power I will live again. I will have the power to take over a new land.                                                    

                                                        Zack                                                    

                                                        You have not changed at all. If it's not using others to do your bidding, it's using force with callous disregard for life.                                                    

                                                        Scourge                                                    

                                                        What does it matter to you? You've no ties to this land.                                                    

                                                        Zack                                                    

                                                        I was sent here in order to stop the destruction of this land. I will see it through.                                                    

                                                        Scourge                                                    

                                                        Bah! Still uttering the same nonsense. Your stars do not follow you here.                                                    

                                                        Zack                                                    

                                                        What does it matter to you. Stars or no stars, your very existence threatens everything here. It would be turning my back on my creed to let you go on.                                                    

                                                        Scourge                                                    

                                                        Your creed! Hah! The very idea. A fallacy that never held any water. Your creed died when you lay bleeding from the claws of your very own son, while I whispered into his ears that the creed dictates that he should follow the stars ­ and the stars decreed that you must die. He followed with no thought!                                                    

                                                        Zack                                                    

                                                        You threatened everything I cared for, and for that you've paid the price in blood. Then, you returned to haunt my child. And now you return to set your sights on another people to bring harm to. By the will of the moon and the stars, I will end you here, Scourge!                                                    

                                                        Scourge                                                    

                                                        Draw your claws, Lightfang! By night's end, you and all you stand for will be ash!
