Project Premise

Action Comedy

On a vacation through South America, Danny, an American fox nutritionist, accidentally gets lost in the civil-war ravaged nation of Cordoba. But before he can get out, he discovers an undiscovered fruit with the health benefits of Açaí, aguaje, yumanasa, and applesauce rolled into one. When he tries to smuggle the special fruit out of the country, though, he learns from the military it's not for export.

Scene Description

A Cordoba military officer has captured Danny and has him strapped to a chair in an interrogation room.

                                                        Do you know what we do to thieves in Cordoba, señor?                                                    

                                                        Danny                                                    

                                                        Apologize, let them go and offer them a discount on the gift shop steak knives?                                                    

                                                        Officer                                                    

                                                        There are knives involved.                                                    

                                                        Danny                                                    

                                                        You're going to kill me, aren't you?                                                    

                                                        Officer                                                    

                                                        Si. But first, why is a little American fox trying to steal jujuwava fruit from our orchards?                                                    

                                                        Danny                                                    

                                                        Look, sir, I am so sorry about being any trouble to you at all, but I swear on my mother's grave—if she were dead, that I have no idea what ju-va-wa-wa fruit is. Or what you are. What the heck are you?                                                    

                                                        Officer                                                    

                                                        I'm a kinkajou, señor.

Action Adventure

In a steampunk world where air travel is king, a retired border collie weapons designer tries to come to terms with having killed thousands with his inventions in a war between wolves and dogs. He finds a chance at redemption when he rescues a pair of kidnapped wolf pups and enlists the help of a pit bull pilot struggling to prove herself in a male-dominated business. Together they'll take a floating barge across the islands fighting local patrols and the remains of the bloody war to bring the wolf pups home.

                                                        First, I don't do fast. I do safe. It takes six days to get to Lodin.

                                                        Six days? Can't you get there any quicker?

                                                        No. You want fast, go to the runways and hire a plane.

                                                        And that's the other problem. Only dogs throwing money around here are smugglers and gun runners. Which one are you?

                                                        Of course you're not. Look, collie, call me a skeptic, but when a suspicious dog wants to pay me to fly him fast to a hornet's nest, I just might get a little uncertain. So tell me, and do not lie to me. What has to get to Lodin so damn fast?

Children’s Adventure

In a magical forest, a community of tree squirrels believe that the first acorn on a special tree will ensure a good gathering of nuts for the winter. The chief's granddaughter Suri is entrusted to protect the acorn, but when it goes missing, she's joined by the son of the watch captain, Sidus, in searching high and low to find the acorn and save their home.

                                                        Oh no, no, no, no, no! The magic acorn is gone!                                                    

                                                        Sidus                                                    

                                                        See? What did I tell you?                                                    

                                                        Suri                                                    

                                                        I was trusted to keep it safe! Oh, why did I go to the river? We'll starve unless we find it!                                                    

                                                        Sidus                                                    

                                                        Suri! We'll get it back. We'll find who took it and put it back on the tree before the gray tails know it's gone.                                                    

                                                        Suri                                                    

                                                        Took it? Who would have taken the magic acorn?                                                    

                                                        Sidus                                                    

                                                        Who? Those ground squirrels, that's who. I'll bet they got a crow or a porcupine or even a fox to come up here and snatch it.                                                    

                                                        Suri                                                    

                                                        That's a terrible thing to say, Sidus! What if it just fell?                                                    

                                                        Sidus                                                    

                                                        No, look! See? The stem was cut. They took the magic acorn, Suri.                                                    

                                                        Suri                                                    

                                                        Oh no. We have to tell the gray tails. They have to know.                                                    

                                                        Sidus                                                    

                                                        You'll get in trouble.                                                    

                                                        Suri                                                    

                                                        I deserve to get in trouble! I was supposed to watch the acorn!                                                    

                                                        Sidus                                                    

                                                        But we know where it is! I'll get my dad to round up the watch. We'll head to the plains and demand those grounders give it back.

                                                        Sidus, you don't know they took it.

                                                        Aye, Captain. It was impossible to see what I was working on up there, and it was cold. My fur just isn't thick enough for this job sometimes.

                                                        I thought your species was from an ice planet.                                                    

                                                        Pope                                                    

                                                        Why is it that everybody from the core worlds thinks that every planet has only one climate on the whole world? Ugh. It's my team, sir. They all turned out to be bolt-sorters.                                                    

                                                        Pope                                                    

                                                        Every now and then they send you somebody who's not just unskilled but dangerously incompetent. Letting them work on something serious would be very bad. But you can't just fire them. So you make busy work. You tell them to polish the handles on all the tools, to write down every time one indicator light flashes, or to sort out different lengths of bolts.

                                                        And your entire crew in engineering is bolt sorters?                                                    

                                                        Pope                                                    

                                                        You got it. There can't be half a brain between all of them, sir.
