Sci-Fi Mystery

During a night with his telescope, Henry sees a strange flash that nearly blinds his eye. With his sight already failing badly, this setback is enough for his boss to fire him from the observatory, leaving him desperate for work. It’s a blessing when his eye’s sight returns, his vision curiously better than it was before. And then it gets even better. And better...

                                                        You're up early.                                                    

                                                        Henry                                                    

                                                        I didn't want to miss the sunrise. [PAUSE] Sara, look at that. Just look at that.                                                    

                                                        Sara                                                    

                                                        The clouds?                                                    

                                                        Henry                                                    

                                                        Everything. The clouds, the trees, the light, the sun—I've never seen it so vividly. I've never seen anything like this before.                                                    

                                                        Sara                                                    

                                                        Well, don't look at the sun too much. You want to keep that eye.                                                    

                                                        Henry                                                    

                                                        It's hard to look away. Did you get the paper?                                                    

                                                        Sara                                                    

                                                        You can have it when I'm done. I don't think you'll find anything in the classifieds for astronomers.                                                    

                                                        Henry                                                    

                                                        No, but I was thinking. The way this eye has gotten, there must be something else I can do.                                                    

                                                        Sara                                                    

                                                        Maybe work for that company looking for one-eyed moles?                                                    

                                                        Henry                                                    

                                                        The other one works. Just not as good.                                                    

                                                        Sara                                                    

                                                        You'd make a perfect pirate, hon.                                                    

                                                        Henry                                                    

                                                        At least I wouldn't be in an office. [PAUSE] Wait a minute. [GRABS NEWSPAPER] They're closing the observatory? When was this announced? Had you heard about this?                                                    

                                                        Sara                                                    

                                                        Henry. I was reading that.                                                    

                                                        Henry                                                    

                                                        I'm sorry. I'm just shocked at this. I can't believe they would do something like that.                                                    

                                                        Sara                                                    

                                                        No, Henry. I was reading that. How did you see it?

Spy Thriller

In the war on terror, a bold new enemy has risen. Jackal and Ostrich are the codenames for a pair of bold terrorists that have attacked some of the most senstive targets in the Middle East, drawing international attention. But while their attacks have been bold, their motives have been less clear, with the top agents from many nations trying to figure out their next move, struggling to see what will become their most unexpected challenge yet.

                                                        Len                                                    

                                                        I don't have time for your politics.

                                                        Then tell you and every one of your thick-tailed kind to stop soiling my home and go back to where you came.                                                    

                                                        Len                                                    

                                                        Vixens and pups are going to die if you don't tell me where those bombs are, Jamil. That is on you. Not on me, not on them, not on this government, no matter how much you want to spin this with your misguided philosophy----                                                    

                                                        Jamil                                                    

                                                        Look at me, fox! Look at me! Look at my fur, what do you see?                                                    

                                                        Len                                                    

                                                        We're running out of time, Jamil.                                                    

                                                        Jamil                                                    

                                                        You see sand, don't you? Scrub, dry grass, the color of the land you claim is your own?                                                    

                                                        Len                                                    

                                                        This is getting us nowhere.

                                                        Now look at yourself. We're not so different, Len, are we? Both canids, the same size. Just you're the one whose ancestors ran like cowards to the corners of the Earth and shook the sand from your hide to bare the red of traitors.                                                    

                                                        Len                                                    

                                                        We didn't run, jackal. We were forced to leave.

                                                        And you came back when you had the strength to hold down those who stayed?

                                                        If you don't tell me right now where those bombs are, Jamil, I will show you just how much strength we have.

Slapstick Comedy

Raymond is a hitrat for the infamous Rodini crime family out of New York. But when his brother conspires to get rid of the don, the loyal Raymond is the first to go. Lacking the heart to kill him, his brother shoves Raymond down an unused pipe in the sewer system, getting rid of him. But when Raymond wakes up, he finds himself someplace very far from New York, where his streetwise style clashes with the saccharine locals.

                                                        Waugh! Who are you?

Bruce Parsons has covered cricket and rugby in Australia for the last 20 years, but when his TV station is bought out, nepotism forces Bruce into a trip to the States to cover sports he's never learned.

                                                        Yeah.

                                                        Ryan, all right. Three, two and one—g'day down under! Bruce Parsons back at you, and I'm here with Ryan Malone of the Dakota Bikers! Ryan, must be a thrill to play basketball up top side! How are you liking things in the States?                                                    

                                                        Ryan                                                    

                                                        I'm really loving it here. I'm with a great team, everyone's super professional and pushes you to be the best player you can be. Everyone puts in a hundred and ten percent, and I'm really lucky to be playing with so much talent.                                                    

                                                        Bruce                                                    

                                                        Well, that's grand, Ryan, and it sounds like you've been picking up your teammates' accent.

Predation, Inc. is having cutbacks, and it falls on Grayson to give the bad news to the unlucky ones in his department. Dale is a good wolf, but not good enough.

                                                        Dale                                                    

                                                        Let me go? Why? What did I do?                                                    

                                                        Grayson                                                    

                                                        Too few confirmed kills, prey sized below your paygrade—Predation, Incorporated expects more from our wolfpack division.                                                    

                                                        Dale                                                    

                                                        Sir, I've been working on my stalking and pouncing. I'll get my numbers back by the end of the month.                                                    

                                                        Grayson                                                    

                                                        You know the company policy, Dale. It's cutthroat out there! How do you think I got to be Managing Director of Region One Carnivores?                                                    

                                                        Dale                                                    

                                                        [PAUSE] By being a Tyrannosaurus Rex?
